Circle as a Place of Intimacy.

Writer: QuanitaQuanita

Thoughts from the Circle Immersion Retreat:

Circle is a place where intimacy can happen and often does. But I’m most curious about how do we move from intimacy as a state (in a particular moment of time) of being with each other to a stage (an ongoing way of living) of being.

I think the most determining factor in circle moving us from a state of being to a stage of being is the circle hosts. If the host lives in this stage, this way of moving through the world, they can then invite others into this place. What I have found though is often circle hosts think they are moving from this stage when in fact they are just visiting this state of consciousness over and over again. Because we can’t give what we don’t have we often cultivate communities of practice that visit this place instead of live in it.

Living at this stage requires surrender.
