Dear owl

I hear you calling into the night

Beckoning me to step deeper into the wisdom within me

As a child I played with you in clock form learning how to play with time,

learning the illusion of time.

Looking into your owl face, turning the clock hands

changing time at my will moving it forward or backwards

making it go faster or even bringing it to a complete stop

Beckoning me to step deeper into the child wisdom within me

Years later when my children were little I would read the Owl Babies book to them. We loved the words, "What's all the fuss? You knew I would come back." It helped me to remind them that even though I might leave from time to time I would always come back to them.

Beckoning me to step deeper into the mother wisdom within me

Now as I lay here listening to your call I wonder what new adventures are you calling me into now and is my wise heart strong enough to listen and fly.
