Grief & Praise

Nzuzu is offering another Grief and Praise Circle this month.

There is so moving in the world. So much to grieve, so much to praise and everything in-between. Grief is always important but especially n times of crumble. Grief lets us let go of the things that no longer serve us so we can open to the things that do. Grief isn’t sadness, grief is release.

Three things that I think keeps us stuck in our grief are:

  1. We think grief requires suffering so we avoid it for as long as we can. Grief isn’t suffering, grief is release, grief is sad, but grief doesn’t have to be suffering. The suffering is the resistance to the grief.

  2. We think the we can grieve alone. Grief requires community. It requires being held and witnessed. The wounding happens in community and so the healing needs to happen ing community.

  3. One of the biggest misconceptions bout grief is that we all grieve differently. I don’t believe this to be true. I think we all avoid grief differently and this story gives us permission to avoid ur grief. Grief is just the process of release, this release can show up as something we have lost (we call that grief) or as something else got (we call this praise) because to really know how to praise something you need to know what would be lost if it were gone.

Grief and praise are two sides of the same coin.

The Grief and Praise Circle is a special online workshop designed to hold space for collective release and reception. Here, we embrace grief not as mere sadness, but as a profound process of letting go that naturally leads to a state of praise and gratitude.
